Hi!

My name is Becky Fortney. I cannot express enough how happy I am to be the Plum City Elementary School Principal and District Curriculum Coordinator. I grew up in a home daycare setting where I started my career early teaching all of my mom’s daycare kids. As I grew up, my passion for working with others continued to grow and I knew I wanted to be in education. After getting my bachelor’s degree at UW-River Falls, I taught for 15 years in grades 1, 2, and 3. I worked on my Masters in Leadership at UW-Superior and now, here I am!

My Fiance, Kyle and I live in Salem Township along with our kids. We have 7 children between the two of us ranging from middle school to college aged. The youngest children are excited about cross country, basketball, and the school musical. One of their recent favorites is playing card games as a family.

Plum City School District has proven to be a community that is caring and welcoming. Academically, our school curriculum provides hands-on learning across subject areas with real world applications. Our character education program helps all of our students grow as well rounded individuals. I am also proud of our STEM curriculum that is helping to enhance all core subject areas.
