Letter from Dr. Chris Kamrath

Greetings Plum City School Community,

The state of Wisconsin released school district report cards on November 11th, 2025.  Our district report cards can be found on this page.  Below you can toggle to the elementary school, middle school, high school or to the district's overall report cards.

The school report cards have been in Wisconsin since 2011-2012.  The formula has been adjusted some over years, but the general concept remains the same.  The report gives each school and district between one and five stars along with a numerical score.

This year Plum City Elementary School received four stars meaning we are exceeding expectations.  This was an improvement from our three star ranking a year ago.  This is an increase of over six points from a year ago!  We are proud of the elementary school for this achievement.

You will notice that the middle and high school are no longer combined into one 6th-12th grade building as they have been in the past.  Instead they are now separate schools.  This was initiated two years ago, though this is the first year we received separate report cards.  While there are several long term benefits to the middle and high school being their own entities, in the near future it will cause some confusion in terms of our state report card.

The middle school does not receive an official ranking for the past year as they do not have data from the previous year to use in terms of growth or targeted data.  We anticipate receiving a middle school report card score next year.

The high school’s score went down by three points from a year ago.  It is worth noting that the school improved their achievement and on-track to graduation scores from a year ago.  The growth and targeted data are difficult to compare to a year ago as they have very little data to utilize due to the building switch. The high school continued to receive three stars, meaning they met expectations.  In a sense, this report card will serve as a baseline for the high school moving forward.

Our district received three stars, or a rating of “meets expectations.”  The district went down by approximately two points from last year.  We are excited to see what happens when all three buildings receive report card scores in the future.

Our district is proud of the work our staff does for our students and that our district meets expectations.  We also recognize that this report card is just one measure of the education we offer our students.  We will continue to work to produce well rounded students and citizens.

Thank you and please let me know of any questions.
