Greetings PC Elementary Families!
Below are a few updates from Plum City Elementary School:
This last week, our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders took the ELA and Math sessions of the WI Forward Assessment. We kicked the week off with an assembly to talk about how assessments are helpful to keep us accountable, help us think about what direction we need to head next with our learning and correct any of our thinking we need to correct. Students shared that they were excited to learn what they know and what they need to know and also about getting gum! 4th grade will take the Science and Social Studies tests on Tuesday, April 15 and Thursday, April 17.
Monthly Reading Calendars: Thank you for all of your at home reading support with our students! I cannot thank our local businesses enough for supporting our students as well! For the month of March, anyone who turned in a reading calendar (deadline was Wednesday, April 9) will enjoy a free extra recess next week. This was at the request of many students. Thanks again for partnering in our students' learning!
On Friday, April 25, our 5th graders will present their experiments at the 5th grade science fair. This event will be held in the Elementary School gym at 1:30 PM. This event is open to all families and the community. Come see their creative problem-solving as they present their findings. The science fair fosters critical thinking and encourages independent learning! Our students want to share with you what they’ve learned!
SUMMER SCHOOL: Please register for summer school by the end of the day, Monday, April 14, 2025 if you haven’t yet. We will work on finalizing classes, teachers, and bus routes so we are ready for an amazing summer school session!
Looking ahead:
For planning purposes, I wanted to get a couple dates out there. 4K and Kindergarten graduation will be on Wednesday June 4th at 10am. 5th Grade graduation will be on Wednesday, June 4th at 2pm. Students will be able to go home with their families on graduation day, however the teachers would love to see them at school still on Thursday, June 5th for the last day of school.
