To be awarded a high school diploma from Plum City High School, a student must meet the following requirements.
- Earn a minimum of 26.0 credits. Included in the total must be:

- 4.0 credits of English/Language Arts
- 3.0 credits of Social Studies
(must include 1.0 credit of World History, 1.0 credit of U.S. History, and .5 credit of Civics).
- 3.0 credits of Science
- 3.0 credits of Mathematics
- 1.5 credits of Physical Education*
- .5 credit of Health (available in grades 7-12)
- .5 credit of Speech
- .5 credit of Personal Finance
- 10 credits of elective courses
*Wis. Statute sec. 118:33 (1) (e) ”A school board may allow a pupil who participates in sports or in another organized physical activity, to complete an additional 0.5 credit in English, Social Studies, Mathematics, Science, or Health Education in lieu of 0.5 credit in Physical Education.
- Any students graduating from a Wisconsin high school "takes a civics test comprised of 100 questions that are identical to the 100 questions that may be asked of an individual during the process of applying for U.S. citizenship by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and the pupil correctly answers at least 60 of those questions" (Wis. Stat. sec. 118.33(1m)(a)1, Section 3266R). Plum City High School students will complete this graduation requirement as part of Civics class coursework.
- In accordance with Wis. Stat. sec. 115.28 (59), All students must provide evidence of academic and career planning. "'Academic and career planning means a comprehensive plan developed and maintained by a pupil that includes the pupil's academic, career, personal, and social goals and the means by which the pupil will achieve those goals both before and after high school graduation" (Ch. PI 26.02 (1)). Plum City High School students will complete this graduation requirement as part of an all-encompassing district effort maintained throughout the student's middle and high school experience.
- Prior to graduation, all students must demonstrate competency in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation as required by the State of Wisconsin.
